Renting in Robina

Robina is inland. Robina Town Centre, Bond University, Robina Hospital, and the stadium sit here, and Robina station is on the Gold Coast railway line. Townhouses and houses are as common as apartments.

People move here for the train, the shops, or the university, then feel surprised that the beach is a trip. If the beach is the point of living on the Gold Coast, time that trip before you treat a Robina rent as a coastal one.

What to check

The beach is east, not at the station

The useful train trip is toward Brisbane and the northern corridor, with a tram change at Helensvale if you need Southport. Helensvale is the wrong way around for a daily beach trip. Look for an eastbound bus or drive, and time it.

Which Robina

The town centre, the university, and the western housing pockets are different walks. “Robina” on a listing is not a location. Use the street.

Townhouse rules

Many homes are in small group titles. Read who maintains the driveway, whether a second car fits, and what the by-laws say about pets and bins.

Bedrooms that are studies

If the ad counts a room without a proper window or ventilation as a bedroom, don’t. You will feel it in summer.

Promised bus upgrades are plans until they run

The state has announced more frequent east-west bus links, including toward the beaches. Rent the services on the Translink journey planner today, not a future brochure.

Getting around and daily life

Transport notes checked in October 2026. Services change. Confirm the trip on Translink (opens in a new tab). The airport rail extension (opens in a new tab) is still planning, not a train you can catch.

Robina station is on the Gold Coast heavy rail line. Varsity Lakes, one stop south, is the end of passenger services. Trains run north through Nerang and Helensvale toward Brisbane. You can change to the G:link at Helensvale.

There is no tram in Robina. A new bus, route 701, was introduced in September 2026 between Elanora and Robina as part of the post-tram network changes. Confirm the stop and the hours. An airport train is not running; the Varsity Lakes to Gold Coast Airport rail extension is still a planning project.

Robina Town Centre

A full shopping centre and a reason many households pick the suburb. Busy on weekends, practical on a weeknight.

Bond University and the hospital

Both are in the suburb. Good if you use them. They are not a short walk from every Robina street.

The stadium

Match days change traffic and parking around the station. If you are next to it, be there on an event day before you apply.
