About this site

Gold Coast Rental Watch is a free guide for people renting a home on the Gold Coast, Queensland. It explains eight suburbs in practical terms, points at the Queensland rules that actually bind a lease, and offers two tools you can use before you sign.

It is not a real estate agency. It is not affiliated with the Residential Tenancies Authority, the Queensland Government, Translink, or the City of Gold Coast. We link to them because they publish the rules, the bond data, and the timetables.

What this site will not do:

• Scrape listing sites or republish vacant apartments.
• Invent a median rent, a vacancy rate, or a “best suburb” ranking.
• Sell your email address. A newsletter signup is kept only so we can send that note, and you can unsubscribe.
• Let a sponsor rewrite a guide. Support is labelled, and the words stay ours.

The rights pages were checked against public RTA pages in October 2026. Forms get updated. If a sentence here and a form on rta.qld.gov.au (opens in a new tab) disagree, believe the form.
